Taconite Tours

Get a close up view of the taconite industry as you take an exciting tour of a working mine. Visitors will slip on hard hats for a two-hour tour through the process of converting iron-bearing rocks into taconite pellets.

A knowledgeable guide will lead you on an adventure where you may see mine workers and their mammoth equipment up close, including gigantic shovels loading 3-story 240-ton trucks, long trains filled with taconite pellets, drilling rigs, bulldozers and other tools of the modern iron mine.
