Visitor Services Coordinator
This position is supervised by the Director of Visitor Services. Responsible for all functions related to admissions, group tours, field trips and other direct services to museum visitors.The Visitor Services Coordinator will serve as the manager of Ironworld's admissions desk with regard to direct provision of visitor services to museum patrons. Manage incoming phone traffic, ticket sales, museum tours, group reservations, school field trips and similar activities. Works closely with Education Coordinator.
Qualifications:
5+ years of customer relations type work
2+ years of management experience
Bachelor's degree in education, English, history or related field.
Excellent interpersonal skills; diplomacy, discreet in handling confidential materials
Ability to create and conduct age-appropriate learning materials and tours
Ability to train and supervise others
Professional demeanor and the ability to interact comfortably with staff and the general public
Organized and efficient in managing time, meeting deadlines and coordinating work on several projects at once
Comforatble working with a wide variety of personalities
Good computer skills
Responsibilities
Manage admissions desk
Establish and maintain effective relationships with public, schools and other professional staff
Manage Museum Assistants
Schedule, confirm and coordinate the logistics for group tours
Work closely with Education coordinator to ensure that field trips and tours meet standards
Work closely with Curator and other staff to produce a satisfying visitor experience
Manage incoming phone calls, mail functions and other clerical support for musuem
Track departmental budget
May need to work both in and out of doors. Some weekends and evenings will be required.
